02 Mar 2010 : George's "Gary Green's Giants" goes top
Yes, George has finally re-captured top spot in the Fantasy Hockey League standings. His transfer policy has finally paid off and with 3 weeks to go things are getting exciting.
Slightly further down the table, there are a still a large number of teams with a chance of finishing in a prize-winning position at the end of the season. Strong performers in the next few weeks stand a good chance of winning the final monthly prizes too!
01 Mar 2010 : MENS 4TH XI PROMOTED
With four league games remaining the men's fourth team secured promotion back to Div. 5SW with their 8-0 demolition of Welwyn 3s.
Well done to George and the boys, let's see you hit the 100 goals!

The final list of prizes should be confirmed soon!
08 Feb 2010 : Goalkeeping Kit for sale
Grays G500 international body armor, size medium.
Slazenger neck guard with bib, fits very well with the Grays armor because the neck drops a bit.
TK GX 3.0 padded shorts, size L/XL, with the over shorts and the braces.
The entire set would retail for about £250 brand new, every things in good condition, there's only a little damage to the over shorts from sliding but I've fixed it up pretty well.
Please contact Helen Oates with your offers, wants £120 min.

19 Jan 2010 : Stags at the Races 2010
Following the roaring success of the Dog Race Night this time last year we are putting on another Race Night very much along the same lines.
When? 7.30pm Saturday 6th February
Where? Sun Sports Main Bar
Cost? £5 which includes proper chip shop fish'n'chips (veggie options also available)
In case you weren't there last year or you've no idea it is all about, we will show a series of dog (or horse) races from a DVD upon which you will be invited to bet. It’s all very straightforward, trust me!
It's a really fun night out and is a great fund raiser for the club to replace the hundreds of practice balls which have somehow vanished.
Come on, what are you waiting for? Come and have a flutter! Speak to your captains for tickets and please bring non-hockey playing folk with you too.
Also, please can we have some prizes for the raffle.
Thanks for your support,
Andy 'Pop' Larkin

A further 6 hours of practical coaching, some of which will ideally be mentored, will take place following the course and prior to assessment. Candidates will also need to attend some mandatory courses run by sports coach UK (scUK), have a First Aid certificate, are strongly advised to be CRB checked and have up-to-date insurance cover.

The closing date for the Fast Track course is Friday 9th April. Please note that there are only a limited number of places so please ensure you apply ASAP.
3. Accredited Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) Level Two
Candidates will undertake a summative assessment prior to acceptance on this route. If the assessment meets the required competency, candidates will complete the portfolio without supervision/guidance prior to a second assessment.
Cost:
The cost to complete via APEL is £225
All prospective candidates are encouraged to read carefully the Level 2 Coach Award Information document and decide which route is best suited to them. (For the majority this will in all likelihood be for the four day course.) However candidates who feel they meet the Fastrack/APEL criteria should complete the appropriate application forms (Fastrack application form and L2 Upskilling Application) and send this to the regional office, once received we will assess applications and make a recommendation as to the most appropriate route to take.
Further Information:
If you require further information or clarification of the course requirements please contact Charlie Farrow, Regional Manager, by email at Charlie.farrow@englandhockey.org or by telephone on 07811 336895.
