Welcome to the "Home" of Hockey in Watford ...
With both mens and ladies 1st XI's playing in the Premier divisions of the East Leagues, six mens and four ladies teams in all, plus several junior sides, and now a National League Men's Indoor Side, West Herts is a successful and forward thinking club and aims to provide hockey for all standards of player, man and woman, boy & girl-regardless of age.
The snow interrupted 2011/12 season will be remembered for being the one where the men nearly made the National League, losing out on the final weekend of the season to the eventual champions, Cambridge City.
The ladies 4th XI continued the club's progress in the Five Counties League by being champions of Div. 5 and the men's fifth team secured long overdue promotion in the East. A seventh men's team was fielded several times and we hope this will become a more permanent fixture next year.
The men's indoor team further cemented their placing in NHL Div. 2 and finished in second place in the East championships behind Old Loughtonians.
There's a short pause for breath after the winter season before we start summer league with men's and ladies teams at the Southgate League, men's league at Old Merchant Taylors, and a mixed side in the new St. Albans league.
