Welcome to the "Home" of Hockey in Watford ...
With both mens and ladies 1st XI's playing in the Premier divisions of the East Leagues, six mens and four ladies teams in all, plus several junior sides, and now a National League Men's Indoor Side, West Herts is a successful and forward thinking club and aims to provide hockey for all standards of player, man and woman, boy & girl-regardless of age.
There is a mid season break until the new year, but the indoor side will be playing in NHL Div 2S in early January, hoping to build on their performance last year. The team recently finished in second place in the East championships behind Old Loughtonians.
2010-11 was the club's 90th season and there was some great hockey on the field both outdoors and in, and some cracking social activity off it. In addition to the leagues the club played in both the Men's and Ladies EH Cup competitions, the Mixed Trophy and the Men's Masters O-40's Cup. The Men's 2nd team crowned their season with the championship of East Div. 3 SW and the club as a whole was awarded England Hockey's "Clubs First" marque.
