Match Report - 20 Oct 2007, WEST HERTS HOCKEY CLUB Mens 4XI lost to Potters Bar 1

With several absentees due from a variety of reasons, the best being Colin had a ticket to the Rugby World Cup Final, we started the game off a little concerned that the opposition had already scored 26 goals in 3 games. We quickly realised why - a good, well drilled side who attacked and played good running hockey. We were barely in their half in the fist 30 minutes.

This game saw Nathan Reidy and Marc Parry have good debuts for the 4th XI, but the opposition were too strong. We were 2-0 down into the half time interval, but we were confident of coming out the second half stronger. We played better using the ball in triangles well and nearer scored a couple of times, but breakaway goals saw Potters Bar score twice more to win 4-0.

At least we did not have a goal leak like other teams. We will play and massacre weaker opposition in this league - so heads up and knock over WGC on Saturday!!!
