Fun 5-a-side hockey for Local Companies
We call it Hockey5s and it takes place every Thursday from 28th May until 16th July 2015. Arrive from 6.45pm. We start playing at 7.00pm on the dot. Email william@the-teamworks.co.uk if you would like to enter your company team this year.
RULES of the GAME - There are not many rules because it is about having some fun.
Would you like to join us? Corporate Hockey5s is a five-a-side mixed mini-league where people can learn this great game; on and off the pitch! Each night teams play every other team attending. This means you will have three or four 15 minute matches all played on half pitch, one way. You can have as big a squad as you can muster, but you must have only 5 players on the pitch; at least two must be ladies. Match fees are £24.00 per team. We have adapted the rules of hockey to keep it safe and fun for everyone.
We do have a few companies with only 2 or 3 people keen to play. If you have the same number we can organise a merger so that you can join us on the pitch and in the club house afterwards. Yes the club or pub afterwards is part of the game of hockey and we will finish the Hockey5s season with a BBQ & beers (until 5.00am in 2010!).
So, if you have a team of people at work who want some exercise, or just want a bit of a fun runaround, why not sign up? They will be able to experience such novelties as the "Zulu" start to each game and self-pass free hits, surely the best thing to happen to the game in the last twenty years (well since the abolition of offside).
The last night of Hockey5s is fancy dress. Big bonus points are awarded for the best outfits, plus there's a free BBQ and plenty of beer.
