Kiran Raichura asked me to officially invite West Herts HC to join himself, Daniel Joseph and Scott Trinidad and the rest of us taking part in the StickforLife World Record Attempt for the Longest Outdoor Field Hockey match in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The event is on the August Bank holiday weekend 27th-30th with the WRA2010 starting at midday on Friday and finishing around 6pm on the Saturday. 23 Mar 2010 : Fantasy Hockey Final Standings
With the winners being announced at the dinner on Saturday, there were few shocks in the final week of the Fantasy Hockey League.

Special mentions to the following:

1. Ralph - for having 3 teams, but not performing that well overall!
2. Rich Egg - for finishing joint 9th, despite making a total of zero transfers.
3. Gill (and her committee) - for finishing with both teams in the top 10. [Though having a goal-scoring GK is always helpful!]
4. Skippy - for very kindly donating his overall prize to the raffle (won by Aaron).
5. Bill - for announcing the competition was a fix.
6. Those people who asked me to make transfers for them - a pint sounds fair n'est pas?

Many thanks to all those people who have helped throughout the season. I managed to remember a few on Saturday, but forget most of you. You know who you are!

I hope everyone has enjoyed the Fantasy Hockey as much as I have enjoyed being a geek/statto. Until next year, adios...

01 Mar 2010 : Men's 4th and Ladies 3rd XIs promoted
The shining successes of the 2009-10 season were the Mens 4s and Ladies 3s who both secured promotion as champions of their respective divisions in impressive fashion.

The men racked up 100 goals and the ladies 73 with miserly goal differences.

For the men it is a bounce back from another administrative relegation and for the girls it's a fifth promotion in six seasons.
